Laura Williams is certified through Equine Canada in both English and Western riding disciplines. She holds a Bachelor of Education with a major in special education and 28 years of teaching experience in the classroom.
She has taught students from Special Olympics, Valleyview Training Centre, and Moxie Club.
Lessons follow the Equine Canada format.
We provide lessons for all levels of riders with their horse or our own. Our lesson horses are well-schooled with a variety of experience and some are available to lease for those taking lessons.
While lessons usually last approximately an hour, students can expect to spend about 2 hours at the farm.
Riding hats and boots are provided at the beginning but eventually riders are encouraged to purchase their own hats and boots.
An introduction to riding will include skills in catching, grooming, handling, and saddling of a horse as well as basic riding skills. As riders develop more independence, they will be responsible for the grooming and tacking up of the horse as their lesson will focus on riding skills.
Riders of any age are welcome, however we recommend that children be at least 8 years of age. We have no top end limit as our oldest rider was 81 years young.
